Little had changed for Legolas from the time he rode out of Lothlorien to the time he reached the boarders of Gondor- a small blessing, as he knew well now how quickly the world around could be turned and strewn. He'd like to say that the white city presented him with answers, with solution.. but there were none. Not even the feeling of a destination reached because he knew that the real journey was only just beginning.
There was turmoil. He knew little of the affairs that had come to pass, only what he was told in passing, of war and of betrayal and the technicalities of who rested on what sides of a battlement. But even had he known nothing at all, the tension and fear could be felt in the air and the trees as much as on the faces of people passed. There were signs that he chose to ignore, a sense of not belonging that crossed the features of most who regarded him. He wouldn't have blamed them- he didn't. For he was sure he did not belong as well.
Navigation through the streets was aided only by his elven vision, and an assumable target which he couldn't miss. He would plan on paying attention to Minas Tirith further were he permitted and did time allow, but he had to carry himself with a purpose now, as there was little but a purpose that left existed.
To gain audience with Aragorn was a trying task. To tell friend of foe Legolas knew was not an easy feat in these times and as unfamiliar as he was with the ways of the city, it was not often it seemed anyone made small talk with members of his kin. The patience to convince them of his case current events had stolen from him, but luckily he outlasted none the less, and was granted entrance (on conditionals that he was to be escorted, and without arms).
The soldier(? guard? Legolas could not be sure the proper term) allowed him a respectable distance, though Legolas was more than pleased to be rid of him, the looks he was shot, and the formalities of it all once he reached what he assumed were his friend's chambers. The door was already cracked open and so rather than waiting to be allowed entry Legolas admitted himself, smiling lightly at Aragorn before speaking.
"Your security is very good, melon nin. I think it took me longer to get through the front doors than it did all of Gondor."
