Welcome to the land of Westeros. You have arrived in a time of plenty. The current summer has lasted fifteen years and it seems as though it may stretch on for ages.
It has been a time of plenty for even the small folk. However for the nobility, who never have to worry overmuch about starving to death, this time of plenty has also been a time of extreme boredom. With no wars to die in, no important marriage pacts to make, and the succession passing easily as it should from father to son, people are growing restless.
However now that the succession seems more uncertain then it has since before the Baratheons took the crown, people are eager to join the game.
