Gondorian seaman | Stationed at Dol Amroth | Nineteen | Fighting for Family
Bereg was born in the first circle of Minas Tirith, tucked away from the city's gates. To be blunt, he's the lowest of the lowest class, both social and financial. Father died defending Osgiliath, mother and (speech-impaired) younger sister work as seamstresses, while Bereg serves the Gondorian naval forces at Dol Amroth (...which is where Denethor and his men have fled to). With a limited education, he's only literate enough to write and recognise his name and the names of his family. Because of a bloody fight on the streets three years ago, he's been listed as a criminal in the Gondorian record books.
He has at most a wisp of honour in him, and he isn't what you'd call a moral person. There's only one moral he consciously sticks to: don’t pick on the involuntarily weak. And even then, due to his upbringing, this sole idea of chivalry he has takes the form of rugged, rough actions.
Friends
Okay. I'll be blunt here -- his manners are sparse and he doesn't talk handsomely. He doesn't have a lot of friends (acquaintances, perhaps, but definitely not friends), but he's fiercely loyal to those he cares for. Because it takes hellfire for him to decide whether someone’s worth his loyalty and thus care or not: it’s going to involve getting into deep trouble together, getting out of deep trouble together, and serious savings of each other’s gluteus maximae. Fellow seaman aboard the same ship go here, especially the ones helping him read letters from and write letters to his mother and sister. And there's an OC, Amath, who taught him how to swim.
Just a note: Bereg likes playful fighting/wrestling with (most of) his friends, so...
Enemies
Loyal =/= obedient. If he thinks/feels something's not quite right, he will question an order or speak (...suggest) against it. He's been reprimanded at the least more than once. He's hot-headed and reactive, and thus gets into fights whenever he's not working on the ship. In fact, back in Minas Tirith, he had gotten into much more. Who knows how many enemies he's been accumulating these years.
Lovers
Surprisingly or not, Bereg doesn't satisfy any fleshly desires with the aid of (random) others. He has two females to feed and care for in Minas Tirith, so there's no need to add to his raison d'etre of a workload. However, this isn't saying that he doesn't appreciate the fine features of -- I'll just stop typing here. Happy, cheery ones are his 'type,' I guess, but he is only nineteen. Things will change.
Family
More or less, he's willing to live on because his mother and sister are still alive.
