Éowyn
The women of this country learned long ago,
those without swords can still die upon them.
I fear neither death nor pain.
I fear a cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them
and all chance of valor has gone beyond recall or desire.

likes, swordfighting, her uncle, her brother, her cousin, Rohan, horses, freedom
dislikes, Saruman, cages, lies, sickness, despair, restriction, evil
strengths, swordfighting, she has been trained for many a year in the arts; caring for others, she showed immense caring for her uncle in his time of need, proving her worthiness as his niece and caretaker; determination, she never gives up, not without a fight; optimism, even in the darkest of times, she will find something good to say to raise the spirit of others; kindness, her kindness seems to have no end with those she loves.
weaknesses, stubbornness, she does not like to sit and watch, and if you tell her to, she will go out of her way to not do as she was told; impulsiveness, once she has made a decision her bravery overcomes her brain; reckless, she would go into war without even proper training if it meant saving her people; loose-tongued and blunt, she will sometimes speak from the heart without thinking first; naïve, she tries to understand things but at her young age, she cannot always.
fears, a cage (figuratively or literally); her country falling into the hands of Saruman once more
dreams, She wants to be seen as not just a woman, but as a warrior, and as someone who can help her country. Not only that, but she wants to obtain these sights and make them real. She also wants to know that Saruman and everyone who follows him are either dead or see the light, so that her country is safe for good.
personality, Éowyn is a brave leader. Even though she is a woman she refuses to be weak or to stand back while others fight for her. She has always been very independent, and had taken it upon herself to bear her own burdens as well as those of her uncle, the King, in his time of need. She is strong of will, but weak with sadness at times for her country and her fears and worries for it. Her determination, alongside her unconditional love, keeps her going.
Éowyn is young and naïve, but trustworthy and considerate all the same. Though she does not always understand things as older adults might, she is mature and mostly level-headed for her age. It is clear that she matured much too quickly in her mind, as a result of having to grow up and take care of her uncle a few years ago as his mind was slowly poisoned by Saruman the White Wizard, through Grima Wormtongue. Now that Grima is gone, and Saruman's grasp was broken on Theoden by Gandalf the Grey, she follows Gandalf faithfully as well as her uncle, and wants revenge on Saruman for both attacking her country later on via Denethor and for hurting her uncle.
As for getting along with others, Éowyn's cheerfulness and optimism can make her a good friend to anyone who needs one. She is always willing to listen and will put others' problems before her own. However, she tends to be impulsive at times and will be stubborn and stick to her own impulsive will. She does listen to and mind her uncle, and most of the time Gandalf as well. She is also very mindful and loving of her brother and of her cousin, who she considers a brother as well, and treats him no differently than her own real brother.

father, Éomund, close, deceased.
mother, Théodwyn, close, deceased. Sister of the King.
siblings, Éomer
other figures, her uncle, King Théoden of Rohan, and his son, her cousin, Théodred.
lineage, Rohan
history, Éowyn was given her name quite appropriately when she was born, as it translates to "horse-friend" and she proves to be very good with horses. She was born into royalty, but this did not change her outlook on the world, other than making her more protective of her country and its people, especially her family, those dear to her. She was the daughter of Eomund and Théodwyn, their second child, born after her elder brother Éomer. Éowyn's mother was the sister of the king, therefore making Éowyn's brother next in line for the throne should anything happen to their cousin, the son of the king.
When Éowyn was quite young, her parents passed away, and her uncle's health began to decline. She became almost like the new queen (the king's wife had passed away a few years before her own parents), though without the title or power, because of the way she would take care of the kingdom. When her uncle lost most of his ability as leader due to his health, Éowyn became much more of a leader for Rohan, alongside her cousin and brother. It turned out that her uncle was being poisoned by Saruman, through the man in his service, Grima Wormtongue.
Gandalf the Grey came to the rescue a few years later, and after that, Eowyn had a certain alliance with him as well, or at least trusted him greatly and even admired him. She pledged herself to his service should he ever need her, in thanks for how he had helped her uncle. A few years later, she fought against Saruman's armies (which were led by Denethor of Gondor), under Gandalf and her uncle, but helping her brother lead the Riders of Rohan. She was thrilled to be able to finally prove herself, and is in much of a happier place now in that sense, though war is still brewing and Saruman's armies are growing, and she worries for it.

rp sample,It was a sunny day in Edoras. There was a bit of a chill in the air, but there were no clouds to speak of in the sky. It was still early morning, and the day promised to be a warm one come midday. Éowyn did not notice the weather, nor did the sight of it enlighten her. Her uncle was sick, and had been for almost a week now. He seemed to be getting much worse every day, and she feared for his death. While her brother was often with the Riders of Rohan, making rounds or doing other miscellaneous jobs, and her cousin was tending to his own duties as the king's son, Éowyn was left in the palace to take care of her uncle. Oftentimes she would see that sickly, horrid creature, the snake, Grima Wormtongue hanging around him. She hated the man; she somehow felt as if it were his fault that her uncle was so sick. She did not trust him, and believed him to be poisoning the king. However, she feared him, and could not prove her claims. Her brother worried for her, but these days she found it harder and harder to keep a smile on her face that would convince him to do otherwise.
That evening he visited her quarters and asked her about what was bothering her. For many long moments, Éowyn stayed silent, not making eye contact, her solemn grey eyes instead searching the walls of the room as if seeing and inspecting something that was not there. Finally, she spoke to him, though slowly, and quietly, as if she was afraid someone could be listening.
"'Tis the snake, my brother." she said, looking now toward the door before finally meeting his gaze. "He is poisoning our uncle, I know it. I can feel the evil that he is shrouded by, and yet no one does anything to stop him! Our uncle is too weak to do so himself, and yet I can see that he falls. Why does he allow himself to be tormented so? Too long he has kept his ill advisor. I wish he would expel him at once."
Éomer merely sighed and looked sadly at his sister. He told her he understood her, and that he too doubted Wormtongue. But he also told her that as the niece and nephew of the king, and not the king himself, they could do nothing to stop Wormtongue.
"Then we should advise the king to send him away himself!" protested Éowyn, but to no avail. She knew it would not work- it seemed as if the king had stopped hearing completely, or at least the words of those he used to hold dear. The only words he heard now, so it seemed, were those that were poisoned by Wormtongue. Nothing pained Éowyn more than to see him like this, and to see her country and home falling from his grasp. She wanted to do something, but she did not have the power. She despaired for her uncle, hoping that some good fortune may strike her, and when that opportunity came, that she could finally aid him.
"I will just have to speak to him every day until the mist is cleared from his eyes."
